Stay Central, Work Comfortably, and Meet Your People at samesame coliving

samesame coliving is built for the kind of Lisbon stay that feels effortless: wake up in the city center, walk to major sights, settle into a productive workday, then end up sharing stories with new friends over dinner plans. With a highly walkable location near Rua da Madalena, it’s easy to explore on foot—ideal if you want the historic heart of Lisbon right outside your door.

Rooms are often described as nicely decorated, quiet (especially in the Madalena building), and consistently clean. The setup works well for longer stays too, with an organized approach to housekeeping that keeps things fresh without feeling intrusive. You’ll find the comfort of having your own space, plus the flexibility to dip into common areas when you feel social.

The real standout is the community events and the people who make them happen. Guests talk about arriving with no expectations and leaving with a “new family,” thanks to a friendly atmosphere that makes it easy to connect. Activities are organized regularly, and there’s room for residents to suggest ideas—so the social side doesn’t feel forced, just naturally available when you want it. The team is approachable as well, with staff and volunteers checking in and being responsive when questions come up.

If you’re working while you travel, samesame coliving is especially strong. The on-site coworking space is designed for real productivity, including access to a meeting room and a phone booth for calls—small details that make a big difference for remote work. It’s a smart choice for digital nomads who need a reliable setup without sacrificing the experience of living in the city.

Practical note: there isn’t an in-house washing machine, but there are nearby laundry options within a short walk—an easy trade-off for such a central base. For anyone looking for a coliving experience that blends comfort, location, and genuine connection, samesame coliving delivers a memorable Lisbon stay.

I stayed at this coliving for more than 5 weeks and I had a truly wonderful time! The location is very central, so all the sights in Lisbon are within easy walking distance. I had a private double room with a bathroom in the Madalena building, which was quite quiet. I also had access to the community room in the Beco building. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. Once a week, the room was cleaned after a quick check-in with me. A special highlight was the community – I met so many great people and really felt at home! They organize regular activities, and you can also suggest your own ideas. It was lovely that you could always reach out to the management or the volunteers with any questions, and they regularly checked in to see if everything was going well. Additionally, there is a coworking space that you can use, including a meeting room for appointments and a phone booth for calls. One small downside is that there’s no washing machine, but that was mentioned on the website before. There’s a laundry shop just a few minutes' walk away. All in all, it was a fantastic stay and I’d love to come back!

I stayed at SameSame for four weeks, and it was my first true coliving experience. I arrived without clear expectations and left with a new family, countless stories, and a positive change from the experience. Is it perfect? No, but neither is any family. What matters is that the staff listens to feedback and works to improve and fix issues. Special mention to the volunteers: they created an incredible vibe and helped build a the community day after day. If you’re looking for more than just a place to stay, SameSame can truly leave a mark on you. Practical notes: The location is right in the city center, super convenient, and everything is close. The trade-off is that central Lisbon can be crowded and more expensive than other areas. I stayed at Beco: beautiful common spaces, and rooms are simple/essential but still have everything you need to feel comfortable and at home. There’s no in-house laundry, but there’s a shared laundromat very close by. I will definitely return :)

When I first moved to Lisbon, I needed a place to stay while I was apartment hunting with my dog. I was so lucky that I found SameSame! They welcomed me and my dog Roo with open arms. The accommodations are beautiful (Stayed in the single apartment and the studio), the staff is fantastic and the location was right in the heart of the city. Beyond that, the community they have built is more like a family. I live here in Lisbon full time now and still try to join the community dinners whenever I can. SameSame is more than a co-living, it is a place to make long lasting friendships and build a home here in Lisbon. Highly recommend!

Sharing something I noticed while researching this coliving. Samesame didn’t get many new Google reviews for several months — the last one was about six months ago. Then recently, shortly after a couple of thoughtful reviews were posted, several new 5★ reviews appeared within a few days. One of these reviewers also appears on their website as part of the team, and several other accounts had little or no review history. Soon after that, one of the earlier critical reviews was no longer visible. I noted the timing because the pattern stood out. Google can see the same public timestamps if they choose to review. Quick timeline of what I observed: • 11/19 — 3★ review → quickly followed by multiple 5★ reviews • 11/20 — 1★ review + another 3★ (later edited to 4★) • 11/21–11/27 — Many new 5★ reviews + long management replies on 3★ reviews • 12/2 — One of the earlier critical reviews was no longer visible If this review is flagged, Google can see the timeline and context. Everything mentioned was publicly visible and can be verified. There aren’t many negative reviews now, but based on the pattern I observed and the style of management’s replies, I recommend considering this place carefully and reviewing older feedback to form your own impression before booking.

I had an amazing experience at samesame in July. It was my first coliving experience and I felt connected with the community the same day I arrived. The coliving is very well decorated as the owners are architects. I had a desk in my room but I also made use of the co-working sometimes. The staff, especially Jota and Lucas were super friendly and easygoing. I had an issue with the WiFi and cleaning of the room and they were very supportive to help. They are also very chill to talk to, like any other coliver! Another pro is that is super centric, so you can walk to a lot of places or takes the tram. The only bad thing is that the co-working and common areas don't have AC, and the don't have laundry. But it was not any major inconvenience that didn't let me enjoy the stay. I have very good memories. If I went back, I'd definitely go to samesame!
